The Tradition of Steelman Continues – Bohinj to Host the 39th Tosidos Triathlon of Steelman powered by Cebe
Every summer, when the countdown to the start of the Triathlon of Steelman begins in Bohinj, it signals the arrival of one of Slovenia's most anticipated sporting events. The very first race took place in the same year that the Slovenian Triathlon Federation was founded, making this event an important part of the history and development of triathlon in Slovenia. Four decades later, it remains a symbol of endurance, courage and respect for nature, and one of the country's most renowned endurance competitions.
On Saturday, 29 August 2026, Bohinj will host the 39th edition of the Triathlon of Steelman. Competitors will once again take on the legendary challenge, beginning with kayaking across the crystal-clear waters of Lake Bohinj, followed by a demanding mountain bike course, and finishing with a spectacular mountain run to Vodnik Lodge. This unique combination of three disciplines in the heart of the Julian Alps is what draws athletes back to Bohinj year after year, while also attracting countless spectators and sports enthusiasts.
